^{एक साहूकार ने अपने पुत्र  से पुछा , ' तुम्हारा कोई सच्चा मित्र भी है ?'.}

^{लड़के ने कहा, ' सभी मेरे सच्चे मित्र हैं ?.}

^{लड़के ने मित्र का नाम बतला दिया।} 

^{रात्रि को एक बजे पिता ने पुत्र को जगाया और कहा मेरे साथ चलो।} 

^{बेटे को अपने साथ लेकर वह उसके मित्र के घर  और बेटे से कहा, ' तुम अपने मित्र को आवाज़ दो।'}

^{लड़के ने आवाज़ें लगाईं, परन्तु मित्र ने कोई उत्तर नहीं दिया।} 

^{तब पिता, पुत्र को एक रास्ते से उसके मित्र के घर में अन्दर ले गया।} 

^{वहाँ वह मित्र अपनी स्त्री कह रहा था, 'रात्रि में बोलना ठीक नहीं।  आदमी रात्रि में तभी आता है जब वह दुखी हो या उसे रूपए की जरूरत पड़े।'}

^{साहूकार ने यह सभी बात अपने लड़के को सुना दी।  इसके पश्चात वह अपने लड़के को साथ में लेकर अपने दोस्त के घर आया तथा जैसे उसने अपने दोस्त को आवाज़ दी, दोस्त एक हाथ में तलवार और दुसरे हाथ में रूपए की थैली लेकर अपने मित्र की रक्षा के लिए आया।} 

^{साहूकार ने बेटे से कहा, 'बेटा मित्र ऐसा होना चाहिए।'}

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Test Of A True Friend.

^{A moneylender asked his son, 'Do you have any true friends too?'.}

^{The boy said, 'All are my true friends?.}

^{The boy told the name of the friend.}

^{At one o'clock in the night the father woke up the son and said come with me.}

^{Taking the son with him, he went to his friend's house and said to the son, 'You call your friend.'}

^{The boy shouted, but the friend did not respond.}

^{Then the father took the son inside a way to his friend's house.}

^{There that friend was telling his wife, 'It is not right to speak in the night. A man comes at night only when he is sad or in need of money.'}

^{The moneylender narrated all this to his son. After this he came to his friend's house with his boy and as he called his friend, the friend came to protect his friend with a sword in one hand and a bag of money in the other.}

^{The moneylender said to the son, 'Son, a friend should be like this.'}
